Monster brought us Beats By Dre. Now the Little Monster, Kevin Lee brings us SOL Republic. The goal was to make great sounding headphones financially accessible to the masses. Iconic hip-hop producer, Dr. Dre is no stranger to making big deals and making big news. The latest deal was selling of 51% of Beats By Dre to cell phone manufacturer HTC for a cool $300 million. As a part of this move, HTC will be incorporating Beats By Dre audio into upcoming smartphones in much the same way HP did in their products. The acquisition will allow them to improve the sound quality of their phones and future devices when listening to a wide array of media. This shouldn’t effect their current relationship with Monster or other branding partners. On a side note, I hear the Little Monster has something exciting in the works that will be announced pretty soon…stay tuned.
So it appears that all 4 major U.S. cell phone carriers will be carrying the iPhone. The Sprint(non LTE or non 4G) and T-Mobile (HSPA+ or 4G) versions, dubbed the 4S should be available in time for the holidays. It’s said that it will look very close to current models, though it will have better cameras and will sport their A5 dual-core processor. I know a few people who will undoubtedly be very excited by this news.

Being the innovators that they are, Nintendo will introduce a new (and I’m sure soon to be copied) controller that features “Screen Stream”. So you’re like, what does that mean? That means each player will have their player info and images specific to them streamed at 1080p streamed directly to their controller. According to IGN, it’s expected to cost between $350 and $400, output 1080p video and possibly support 3d video. Nintendo’s playing with the big boys!
Apple made headlines when it was discovered that iPhones and iPads use their built in gps transceivers to track and record their owners where abouts. Even more disturbing is the fact that the feature can’t be turned off. Well all you Android os phone users, no need to feel left out. Apparently Android devices do the same thing. It’s believed that this info is used for location based add campaigns, but only the manufactures know for sure.
