That’s where the Pandigital Photo Link ($129.99) comes in.  This photo scanner is amall and light enough to carry around with you, but because of it’s size, the largest photo it can handle is 5×7.  It has two resolution options, 300 and 600 dpi.  It can be used with or without a computer, connects via usb and has a multi-card reader that supports SD, MS, MS Pro, MMC, XD.    All you do is insert the included SD card, plug it it, turn it on and start scanning, so in addition to being pretty easy to use, the pics come out pretty clear too.  So if you want a divice dedicated to picture conversion, it’s worth a look.
