When I unboxed the Ladybug, I was very impressed by the size as well as the asthetic. It has a ver modern sleek design that will look good in just about any room. Running down the spec sheet, this looks to be the ideal dock. It supports every model of ipod and iPhone, it charces most of them, and it even has an auxilary input for your non iPod mp3 players.I was impressed by the fact that it had a remote control, but that didn’t last very long. The remote has to used at close range for 3 reasons. I tested it with an iPod nano, and when it is docked, you don’t have complete access to all of the function buttions with your fingers. The seond reason is because the remote is a one way remote, if you sat across the room with it, you wouldn’t be able to see what you were controling any way. As for the third reason, I’ll get to that in a minute.
So for me, the most important element of any audio device is of course, the audio. When i first turned on the LadyBug, it easily got an “A”, the clarity was impecible and the bass response was pretty cool. Sadly though, as I turned it up, it easily got a “D”. That brngs me to the third reason you need to use the remote at close range….there is no way to listen enjoyably to this device while it sits across the room from you. So i mean it looks cool, but for the $99 price tag, i would expect a lil bit more.
