With the exception of the Playbook, it’s been pretty quiet as far as Blackberry news goes this year.  Our friends at BGR.com got some exclusive insight on 4 upcoming handsets, the new Bold (Dakota), the new Curve (Apallo), The Storm 3 (Monaco) and The Torch 2.

The Bold which is the flagship device will be sporting OS 6.1, HD video recording as well as ram and display resolution upgrades. If that isn’t enough, theyre also throwing NFC, or Near Field Communication into the package.  That will give it the ability to talk to other handsets or other NFC enabled devices in general simply by being near it.  Specs :

The Curve which is huge among general consumer will get a bump in its camera resolution up to 5-megapixels and boasts a 800mhz processor.

The Torch apparently was a bit slow for some consumers with its 624mhz CPU so RIM tackled that problem head on by  incorporating a 1.2GHz CPU into the Torch 2.  They’ve also included 8gb of storage so you can put tons of video to watch on the VGA quality screen.

The Monaco, which may or may not carry the Storm 3 name, but it is definitely next in the succession.  With features like a proximity sensor and magnetometer, it will be able to detect your face and metals. You can also use it as a mobile hotspot, a definite plus.  Be on the look out for this one around September.  Here are the specs:
