I had a chance to play with the The Lenovo Ideapad U110 ($1,799).  Over all, it was a solid machine, but it did have a shortcoming or two.

When unboxing the U110, you can help but notice how pretty it is.  It has a textured tribal sort of designs that covers the aluminum case, giving it a feel of modern-classy.

It definitely lives upto ultra portable.  this 11.1″ widescreen baby is small enough and light enough to carry with you anywhere.  It also has 4 invisible function touch-buttons that light up when touched.u110-7l2.jpg

u110-6l.jpgThe built-in webcam doubles as a face recognition tool.  That’s cool if you want that level of security, but i felt like it just got in the way.

I love that it comes with 2 batteries, though i think the battery life could be better.  I almost love this lil pc altogether, but it’s a tad too flimsy.  The hinge where the monitor meets the computer is kinda flimsy.  after a couple days of use, it developed a crack and after several weeks, it just got bigger and bigger.  I think the biggest dissapointment for me was the built in speakers.  I would call them mediocre at best.  I was constantly bending over, straining my ears to hear what was coming out.                 u110-4l1.jpg

It is definitely a pretty little machine, but there were a couple issues that would keep me from adding it to my electronics catalog.
