Here at Gadget-T, we’re fans of all new tech and innovation, but we’re not always qualified to test everything that lands on our door step. And that’s the case with this MixMeister software package from Numark.

mm studio big

For those of you who don’t know, MixMeister was designed to help you step your digital dj game up. It comes in two flavors, Studio mm studio boxfor the mixtape dj and Fusionmm fusion box for live performances. Since I’m not a dj, i decided to stay in my lane and recruit the help of dj crew, 85 Live. Here’s what they had to say:

GT: So how long has 85 Live been doin your dj and and who does the crew consist of?

85 Live: It’s been about 10 years. And the main members are DJ Lifted, J2 and Bee One.

GT: I know you guys are no strangers to the digital aspect of dj’ing and have tried a few other products, so on a scale of 1-10, 1 being the worst and 10 being the best, how would you rate MixMeister on ease of use?

85 Live: 7

GT: and one to 10, did it meet your expectations?

85 Live: 7

GT: How would you rate it over all?

85 Live: I give it an overall rating of 7 out of 10

GT: What did you like the most?

85 Live: I liked the fact that it automatically blended the tracks together. I also liked the interactive demos, which help a lot more than reading a manual.

GT: What did you dislike the most?

85 Live: I couldn’t drag the actual track in the mix window. I would prefer an option to mix down the tracks into one mix.

GT: What would you change if anything?

85 Live: I would allow the tracks to move around, not just the intro and outro points. I would also like to see individual track editing.

GT: Any other thoughts?

85 Live: I really like this program. It has the possibility of making anyone, who is computer literate, an average dj. I am excited to see if there will be any changes to it in the future.
