Downloaded Blackberry Traffic today from the Beta Zone. I was never a fan of the previous versions, but since they added the voice guided feature I figured I’d give a shot. Since downloading, I’ve tried it in a few spots and would love to try it out, but I haven’t been able to get a gps signal. Guess I’ll be using Google Maps til Traffic decides to behave.

After about a day of spotty or no Blackberry data service in North America, it is slowly returning. Millions of Blackberry users had hips that were not buzzing due to a faulty switch that caused outages across several continents. This has been the largest RIM service failure in years. With many customers and investors already losing faith in the communications giant, this was definitely not a good look. Hopefully for their sake (and mine since a I’m a BB fan), this isn’t a sign of things to come.
RIM made their much anticipated touch and type hybrid phone a reality with their announcement at Blackberry world. Feature to be included are HD video recording and playback, NFC and Liquid Graphics touchscreen. The 4g device will be available this summer in both GSM and CDMA varietis. You can find the GSM version on T-Mobile, and the CDMA version on either Sprint or Verizon.
RIM has recently announced that it will officially support Android apps on the Blackberry PlayBook and future QNX cpu based phones. Traditionally, Blackberry is known to be pretty difficult to develop programs on, therefore they’re not known to have a huge plethora of apps like Android and iPhone. Now the decision of what phone to get will no longer hinge on the question of “do I want more apps, or BBM?” You can have both you silly goose. This will be the ultimate cure for BB owner’s app envy!
With Wednesday’s announement of the iPad 2, we finally have a complete comparison chart of 2011′s hottest tablets. Everyone is gonna have their favorite depending on what they use their device for. But they all look pretty good spec-wise, so I think it may come down to personal preference.

The Bold which is the flagship device will be sporting OS 6.1, HD video recording as well as ram and display resolution upgrades. (more…)

Looks like Motorola is join the tablet wars. And they take blatant shots at the iPad and the Galaxy Tab. I did notice however that they left out players like the Playbook and the new announced Creative ZiiO. Now either they feel that they are not a threat, or they’re just not ready to battle everyone at once. Time will tell…
