Apple made headlines when it was discovered that iPhones and iPads use their built in gps transceivers to track and record their owners where abouts. Even more disturbing is the fact that the feature can’t be turned off. Well all you Android os phone users, no need to feel left out. Apparently Android devices do the same thing. It’s believed that this info is used for location based add campaigns, but only the manufactures know for sure.

Looks like Motorola is join the tablet wars. And they take blatant shots at the iPad and the Galaxy Tab. I did notice however that they left out players like the Playbook and the new announced Creative ZiiO. Now either they feel that they are not a threat, or they’re just not ready to battle everyone at once. Time will tell…

Apple and Rim have been at war for some time now over who has the more sought after, more desired and all around better handset. Well in April or May of next year, the fight will have moved into the tablet arena. Apple came out with a great device in the iPad, but it lacked a few features that left a few consumers wanting more. Rim decided to fill this void with it’s own table, the PlayBook. I will include a USB port, Flash and a front facing camera. But not to be outdone, it’s speculated that the iPad 2 will step it’s game up and be be pretty closely matched to the PlayBook.
Here’s a list of unofficial specs:
· Cameras – front and rear, HD capable · Gyroscope - 3 axis gyroscope · USB port – micro USB Probably for charging · GSM and CDMA · Thinner- more like a MacBook · Retina display – like that of the iPhone 4 · Seven-inch screen – more on par with other tablets · A faster processor – likely an ARM’s Cortex A9 (1GHz dual-core), like the PlayBook · More memory - from 256MB to at least 512MB
In an attempt to gain control of their fare market share of the e-reader game, Barnes and Noble has released Nook for Android. They already have Blackberry and iPhone apps as well as a Pc and Mac clients so this was a pretty good move to try to make Nook a household name.
I am sure you will hear a lot about this over the next few months and years. I have an iPhone and extremely excited to have its big brother.
I listened live to the Apple Announcement and here is some bullet points about the iPad I heard.

I’ve been an avid MAC user for quite some time and have been an admirer of their ability to push the envelope. Part of the allure was the simplistic naming conventions used throughout their line of products. Names like MacBook, iPod, iPhone, etc. Contrast this to other manufactures like Dell XPS, Microsoft Zune and other names that seemingly have nothing to do with the product. However, I like others were taken aback when the latest product in the lineup was announced as the iPad? For most this terminology conjures up thoughts of other items much more ubiquitous with our female readers. Now don’t get me wrong I get the premise of keeping in line with their naming convention of an “I” followed by a one syllable descriptive verb. However, given the connotations that arose shortly after the premiere I might have went with something like iTab or iSlate. I know someone might do the following as a joke, but if you follow the link you will that pre-orders are actually available. As someone who will in all actuality probably purchase an iPad, I can assure our readers I will not be purchasing the following iPad case. However, I applaud Etsy as I’m sure this will be a hit as a gag gift for more than a few iPad owners.
I believe the following pictures speak for themselves
